An Unannounced Visit
I decided to be direct because I couldn’t get rid of my uneasiness. I picked up my coat and went to Lisa’s place. My mind was racing with what I would say, and the drive was a blur. Would they be at home? Or would they ignore me entirely? I knew I had to confront them, but I wasn’t sure. I felt a knot in my stomach from the anticipation, and every setback made me more anxious. I have to be aware.

An Unannounced Visit
Curtains Drawn Shut
The situation seemed strange when they arrived. Tightly drawn curtains blocked out the outside world. Whatever was going on inside was silently observed by Mark’s automobile as it sat in the driveway. With uncertainty brewing within of me, I gazed at the house. Even though it was quiet, the atmosphere was far from serene. I couldn’t help but wonder if there were answers waiting behind those closed doors because something invisible seemed to linger. I inhaled deeply, bracing myself for the situation.
