She made an effort not to give it much thought because it may simply be his nerves. She knew something wasn’t right, though, when she was standing across from him and he didn’t even grin. They could occasionally communicate without even speaking, so she tried to question him with her eyes, but it didn’t seem like they were connecting as well as they once had.
