The absurdist piece Dr. Strangelove is all about the paranoia surrounding the Cold War. The team in the movie decided not to write a full script and allowed the cast members to improvise their own lines. They called this method a ‘retro-script.’ We can’t ever forget Dr. Strangelove’s German salute— apparently, that was all Sellers!
