Remember Johnny Deep who played Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest? Well, in order to take up this role, he was required to improvise certain bits. In fact, there is a scene where we see Sparrow singing, “I got a jar of dirt.” Depp came up with this on the spot, taking Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley by surprise!

Jim Carrey is definitely the best actor for Count Olaf. He was able to understand his character really well and it shows in his improvised lines. “Wait! Let me do that one more time! Give me the line again. Quickly, while it’s fresh in my mind!” was actually all Carrey. This unplanned dialogue was not in the script, but it worked well for the film.
