Apollo sees a route out of the sanctuary. It was the rooftop. He noticed a window that was slightly cracked. Perhaps he could use his fists and feet to break open the window. Given the window’s terrible state, this may be plausible. Apollo thought this was his way out.

The cages were Apollo’s first challenge because he needed to get out first. Given how horrible the cage conditions were, this shouldn’t be too difficult. And, moreover, he had already come a long way when he was arrested a few days before. He knew it would not take long to get out of the cage.
