Amanda crouched down, studying the eagle’s behavior with growing curiosity. Despite the surrounding chaos, the bird remained surprisingly calm, its sharp eyes flicking between the onlookers. “It’s just watching us,” she murmured under her breath, sensing that the eagle was alert but not panicked. There was something deliberate in its stillness, something that made her uneasy. “Why aren’t you moving?” she whispered, as if expecting the bird’s intense, steady gaze to somehow offer an answer.

Lisa, who had been stuck in her car, finally stepped out and walked over to Amanda, her curiosity getting the better of her. “Any idea what’s going on?” she asked. Amanda shook her head. “Not yet,” she replied, and the two women exchanged a glance, both intrigued and uneasy. Lisa sighed and folded her arms, eyes fixed on the eagle. “I’ve never seen anything like this before. What’s it doing just sitting there?” she said aloud, giving voice to the question everyone else was silently asking.
